A New Dress

I think I have fallen into a Sinclair pattern rabbit hole. I just love the petite option, no fiddling with rearranging the pattern. She released a new dress pattern, The Lena. Um..of course it went straight in the account. In cleaning up my sewing space I found some lengths of cotton wovens I had bought that are perfect for making wearable first pattern testing.

This is a dress with no buttons or zippers, it uses sude ties. The construction is actually quite delightful. The only upsetting moment was having to make ties. You know how I hate having to turn ties. Now that I have the width measurments for the tie on my next version I will be doing my normal I hate turning ties hack.

The construction was quite easy and it really did not take very long to finish. The portion that took the longest was the ties.

On my next version I will do the ties correctly and maybe tighten up the neck area. Oh and I will add pockets on the next one too. All in all it is a very comfortable dress to wear.
