FO Friday of Last week of January

I finished the crochet scarf I began just before Christmas. It took me just a little over a month to complete.

The yarn is a very bright neon green that is called Big Twist. I think it was an in-house Joanns brand. I picked up a few skeins of it when they were doing their closeout sales. This is not a favorite yarn for me - it likes to split. It does work up nice (other than the splitting) and feels soft.

I used the crochet version of the Mariner’s scarf pattern from the Christmas at Sea program of the Seaman’s Church Institute. The pattern is very easy to complete, especially if you can count to 4.

The color is bright which I think must be better on a ship for safety reasons. They can certainly see the wearer coming day or night in this thing. I have almost another full skein left so expect more in this colorway.
