Friday Feline Cooking

Our cat, Miss Kitty loves her freeze dried salmon treats. I am very particular (like the majority of pet owners) about what she eats. I refuse to buy treats made outside of the US.

Lately her brand of freeze dried treats has been harder to source. She almost ran out of them the other week. Oh the horror! Cue social media which has been sending me make your own cat treat reels.

I thought I can do that. I bought some salmon filets, mixed them with a raw egg white. Popped them in the oven and baked them.

I now know why the reels showed them in little silicone molds. I think they are just a tad to big for our little princess. I tried to make them as small as possible.

The real test was whether she would actually eat them. Once they had cooled I went off in search of her. She was taking her 5 hour morning nap. I waved one under her nose and she twitched. She roused up enough to try a treat. She ate it and appeared to go back to sleep.

But….about 3 minutes later she got up from her nap to find me to ask for more. They might not be super pretty but she likes them. If you are owned by a cat you know this is the most important part.
