Sample of shorts

I purchased a pattern from Sinclair Patterns the Hello Shorts when it was first released. I tried to make a pair but it did not go well. Now that I am a more confident sewer I wanted to try the pattern again. Also a sewing friend has made several pairs and simply raves about them.

The pattern has lots of options and now that I have made a pair I sew why she loves them. I used the fabric I have been trying to use up for samples. These will simply be a pair of sleep shorts for me since the fabric is thin.

The pattern wants you to sew through the elastic on the back. I am never a fan of sewing through elastic. I tried but it did not work so I ripped it out. I did not add any pockets or pocket flaps since this was just a sample.

They are super comfortable and a little bit dressy. I will be reprinting the pattern pieces. I printed out a too large size (it was one of the first patterns I bought from Sinclair). I now know exactly what size to print in these patterns. It looks like the front and back legs are not the same length due to my stunning photography skills. Trust me they are just fine when worn.
