Saturday Charity Project

Quite a few years ago my American Sewing Guild chapter selected the charity, sewpowerful.org as a sewing project. I have always made a few bags for them every year since.

The pattern is free and there is lots more information about the program at the link above. I sewed 3 bags this summer and I am finally getting around to sending them off.

The organization is a Christian ministry in Zambia. They not only distribute the purses with needed supplies but also train woman to sew and hence make a living for themselves.

Hopefully these purses will find a happy home with a young lady and help keep her in school.
