School Sewing on a Saturday

When I cleaned up my craft room I rediscovered quite a few preprinted panels. By the way, I am sad these do not seem to be a thing anymore. The ones I own and have now almost all completed are at least almost 10 years old. I do see a few at Hobby Lobby around the holidays but they are quilt panels, meant to coordinate with fabric and make either a wall hanging or a small lap quit. Not actually toys or other objects to sew.

Anywoo… I had this cute minion panel to make finger puppets. I got busy attaching a fleece batting to the back of each piece. I batch ironed on the backing and then cut. The finger puppets had lines for sizing. I went with the small and medium. I did one in the large size and it was too tall for my finger. If it too tall for me no way will a kinder child be able to use it.

They did turn out super cute. I plan on using them in my classroom as a station. Kids love puppets and like to put on their own puppet shows. Eavesdropping on their made up play is fascinating. It will either cause you to secretly chuckle or break your heart - there is no in the middle.

These will be well loved and I will probably be doing some emergency repairs on them at some point. The best part is that I can just toss them in the wash and get them clean when needed.
