Short Waisted Sleep Pants

Well I really do not learn my lesson sometimes. I remember I used some cute flannel at the beginning of the year in an attempt to make myself a new pair of sleep pants. They ended up being a perfect fit for my DD.

When Joanns was going out of business I bought some cute Christmas reindeer flannel and I thought I would try again. These fit, but I do feel they are very short waisted. I will wear them a few times but I suspect they will not last long in the pj department. I obviously forgot all about the issues I encountered at the beginning of the year with this pattern.

The other issue is that even though the fabric is super cute it is cheap flannel. I believe it will begin to pill after the second wash. If I can remember to fix the pattern for myself the next pair will be made in a nicer flannel. Though sometimes I think I should just use cotton for the sleep pants. Menopause and flannel pjs are not a match made in heaven!

I always put patch pockets on my pj pants because hello pockets! This is one of the best reasons to sew for yourself - I can put a pocket in that! It also helps me tell the front from the back. I have a pair I made years ago that do not have pockets. It never fails I put them on backwards and then have to change them around. Small annoyances of life.
