Spooky Pants

Not sure what happened but I made a holiday sewing project before the month of the holiday - who am I? I had almost 2 yards of a stable knit with a Halloween theme I bought before Joanns went under. It is just enough for a pair of Made For mermaids Winnie pants.

I think this might be the 4th pair I have made using this pattern. On one of the pairs I used an elastic waistband. They are super comfortable but the waistband is not really wear out of the house ready. Since then I have stuck to the no elastic drawstring waistband.

The other reason I love this waistband is the gromments I get to install. You would think after all the gromments I have installed I would remember the process. I have to rewatch a short youtube video everytime. I tried doing it from memory one time - disaster. it only takes a few minutes and now they are installed correctly.

I do think the next pair I make I will cut out a size smaller than I have been using. I just think it would bring in the waistband just the right amount. I love the fabric with the eyes peeking out between the mummy wraps. The fabric glows in the dark after it is exposed to sunlight.

They are just a fun pair of pants to wear and as always so comfortable.
