Trying a New Blouse Part 1

I have tried draped collars before and frankly I have not been very successful. Sinclair patterns had a pattern that I have not tried yet, the Chloe. I had a very small scrap of fabric I thought would work as a test make.

The fabric itself was beautiful in color but quite annoying to cut. It is a stretch very lightweight knit. Luckily I have been practicing pleats with some other projects so that went well.

I have learned my lesson over time about interfacing. I placed it on the shoulder seams and lined the back facing also. I have begun using block fusing on interfacing. I do a rough cut of the shape I need and add the interfacing before i cut the final piece. I think this ensures better coverage and support.

That is all I was able to finish on the blouse so far. The next steps are to finish the back facing and attach it to the back. I also have to baste in the pleats. This will be a sleeveless version due to the lack of fabric.

I also spent part of the week washing quilting top fabrics and ironing them.
