A few years ago I cut out a Love Notions Tidal dress. I cannot remember what went wrong, but it was never finished. Everyone on Love Notions fan pages raves about the dress. It has been on my radar to try it again, now that I am better sewer I thought I would try again.
It is a very easy sew because there are only 4 pattern pieces. It also has nice shaping with the side seams and the back. I had some very loud DBP fabric I thought would work for a sample trial run. The cutting out of the fabric went well.
The hardest part of the whole thing was when I basted in one of the sleeves upside down (maybe my sewing skills are not as good as I imagine:).
I of course noticed the bottom hem was flipped up after I took the pictures. My underwhelming photography skills continue to be displayed on a weekly basis.
Quite a bit of the hem flipping is eliminated once the make goes through a wash cycle. Everything seems to calm down once it is washed. I am pleased with the make, It fits and looks good on my person.
