New Knitting Bag

When I wandered into Hobby Lobby they were having a fabric sale. This was more than a month ago and I found some adorable valentine themed fabrics. I must admit I do not understand all the gnome love. They are a tiny bit creepy but thought the fabric might work to try a seasonal knitting bag. On youtube I keep watching knitting videos where the presenters match their project bag to the season.

I might not be that way gone but wanted to try it on for size. I have made this pattern about 4 times and I still cannot get it correct. Every time I try to make the pattern I mess up something new. Sometimes i even make the same mistake twice.

These are the inner parts of the bag. After using the other versions of this bag I have made I realized a few things (besides I dislike the pattern). I thought I would want all the pockets included, but honestly they are just annoying. I can never remember what pocket I placed the knitting notion I need at the moment. This means each time I need to measure or place a marker I have to search through all the pockets.

The outer portion of the bag. Right after I snapped this picture I realized mistake number 2000 with this project and my seam ripper appeared.

The drawstring channels - the one design feature I really do like on the bag.

The completed object. I did not put any outer pockets on this version and only 2 slip pockets on the inside along with a zippered pocket. It is already in use and I am not spending most of my knitting time with the project inside looking for a notion.

I will most likely not be making anymore of this pattern. I find it too frustrating. Normally the second time I make a pattern it goes faster, but I have made this pattern 4 times and my speed has not increased and I spend the majority of the time on the make with a seam ripper. I believe more tech editing might have been needed on the directions - they are confusing. There are a few sizes and versions you can make using the pattern and they are all jumbled together.

I found some easier patterns on youtube that I will attempting.
