A Finished Quilt (Una colcha terminada)

I hardly believe it myself but the lap quilt is completed and has even been washed! If you remember this was how it started.

Me cuesta creerlo, pero la colcha está terminada, ¡e incluso la lavé! Si recuerdan, así empezó todo.

It seemed to take forever to quilt this small piece. Mostly this was operator over confidence in executing the project. In hindsight straight quilting might have gone faster. Now that it is completed and I have my rose colored glasses on I am happy with the choice I made to outline each item on the panel. I am not sure if the quilting police would call this free motion quilting.

Acolchar esta pequeña pieza me pareció una eternidad. Principalmente se debió a la excesiva confianza del operador al ejecutar el proyecto. En retrospectiva, el acolchado recto podría haber sido más rápido. Ahora que está terminado y me siento color de rosa, estoy contento con la decisión que tomé de delinear cada elemento del panel. No estoy seguro de si la policía del acolchado lo llamaría acolchado de movimiento libre.

We have already established my Singer machine is not a fan of the invisible thread (I have to second that motion). It did get better the more I sewed with the thread but we both are happy to see the end of that thread in our lives.

Ya hemos comprobado que a mi máquina Singer no le gusta el hilo invisible (secundo esa sugerencia). Mejoró cuanto más cosía con él, pero ambas estamos felices de ver el fin de ese hilo en nuestras vidas.

Then of course there was binding selection drama. I am very happy with the binding color I selected from my personal fabric collection. I hand sewed the back of the binding to the quilt, threw it in the wash and viola.

Luego, por supuesto, surgió el dilema de la encuadernación. Estoy muy contenta con el color que elegí de mi colección personal de telas. Cosí a mano la parte trasera de la encuadernación a la colcha, la lavé y ¡listo!
