A Knitting Lena
I found the Lena dress from Sinclair patterns a very comfortable wear. Decided to make another one using some sheep knitting fabric I had.
On this version I did my tie hack. I swear this is the most time consuming part of the pattern. This time I had enough fabric so made the ties the pattern called for length. Actually I think I like them shorter like I made on my first version.
Also this time I checked and rechecked the direction of the fabric so my sheep are not upside down! Also included pockets.
The neckline still gives me fits. On this version I ended up adding neck elastic to bring it. I am wondering if I could add a knit plain colored neckband to help it not be so wide on my skinny neck.
I will admit this version seems bigger than my last one. I will wash the finished product and see if that helps me feel more comfortable in the dress. Fabric selection makes a huge difference in the comfort level of a hand sewn piece of clothing.
