A short hiking trip
My DD had a birthday and asked if we could go for a hike at Zion National Park. This beauty of a park is located in Utah about 3 hours from our home. The drive was quite nice. We stopped to fill up and In N Out Burger just before we reached our destination.
We hiked for about 3 hours. The weather was perfect, not too cold and not too hot. It rained a little as we arrived but soon stopped. We had partly sunny weather for the hike. The skies burst open as we were leaving in the car.
We saw some wildlife, the deer were so close to us. The item on his collar is a tracking device. The National Park Service is monitoring the health of all the deer within the park boundaries.
We also were treated to a view of beautiful flowers.
Honestly I was very impressed with myself. Despite the uneven ground and unfamiliar stairs I did not trip or lose my footing once during the day.
Due to my normal tension glaucoma my field of vision can be compromised and my depth perception is often affected when I travel and walk in unfamiliar surroundings. I did spend a lot of time looking down and taking my time.
I did look up to see the majestic views. It was a great family day trip and a wonderful way to celebrate her birthday.
