Austrian Pants (Pantalones Austriacos)

One of the last times I visited my local Joanns I found a few yards of a cotton woven printed with images from Austria. Well doesn’t everyone need a pair of Austrian pants?

Una de las últimas veces que visité mi Joanns local, encontré unos cuantos metros de tela de algodón estampada con imágenes de Austria. ¿Acaso no todo el mundo necesita un par de pantalones austriacos?

Last summer I made a pair of Sinclair Patterns Monty pants. They were made from a cotton sheet and were a test pair to fit check, etc. Since it was a Sinclair pattern they fit perfectly in the petite size. The only issue I encountered was I could not figure out the front pants pocket. It is not super noticeable on the pair and they turned out to be a favorite pair of pants. I always wanted to try the pattern again.

El verano pasado hice unos pantalones Monty de Sinclair Patterns. Estaban hechos con una sábana de algodón y eran de prueba para comprobar el ajuste, etc. Como eran de Sinclair Patterns, me quedaban perfectos en la talla pequeña. El único problema que tuve fue que no conseguía distinguir el bolsillo delantero. No se nota mucho y resultaron ser mis pantalones favoritos. Siempre quise volver a probar el patrón.

I thought the Austrian fabric would be perfect. I did not have quite enough for the front pocket bags and back waistband, but found some blue in my stash. I was able to make the front pocket bags perfectly and it is a lovely design feature. Making a waistband with a directional print is always a challenge. At first I thought it would be facing correctly and they do when you look at them from above.

Pensé que la tela austriaca sería perfecta. No tenía suficiente para los bolsillos delanteros y la cinturilla trasera, pero encontré algo azul en mis existencias. Pude hacer los bolsillos delanteros a la perfección y es un detalle de diseño encantador. Hacer una cinturilla con un estampado direccional siempre es un reto. Al principio pensé que quedaría bien orientada, y así es al mirarla desde arriba.

The pattern also has back pockets with a bag and they might be the next thing I tackle on the pattern. The pattern is well written and most importantly the pants fit in length without any adjustment for me.

El patrón también incluye bolsillos traseros con bolsa, y podría ser lo próximo que haga. Está bien escrito y, lo más importante, los pantalones me quedan bien ajustados sin necesidad de ajustarlos.

Anyway they look cute, but I must admit so far they are not as soft on my skin as the other pair. I guess I need to wash them about 5 times to soften up the fabric.

De todas formas, se ven bonitos, pero debo admitir que hasta ahora no son tan suaves para mi piel como los otros. Creo que necesito lavarlos unas cinco veces para suavizar la tela.
