Christmas Sewing #1
I finished a sewing present for my DH (he does not read this blog so I am safe to post it). I have used a very old simplicity pattern for mens pjs. I think I have probably made him at least 10 pairs of these over the years.
Being married to someone who can sew you the exact pj shorts you desire is a big advantage. He prefers his pants be shorts (the pattern is cut for pants, not shorts). He dislikes elastic waistbands so he gets twill tape inserted for a drawstring. I have tried many different products to make his drawstrings. I believe he likes the twill tape best (but has never really expressed a strong preference regarding his drawstrings). I like it because it does not fray like cotton cording. It is also less bulky.
Finding flannel suitable for grown men can be difficult. When Joanns was going out of business I found some blue tie dye-like pattern and thought it would work. I bought all they had on the bolt, a little over 2 yards and it worked perfectly with just a tiny bit of leftovers.
I am sure these will be worn and appreciated.
