Fair Winner Part 1

I entered 7 jars of canned goods and a dress in my county fair this year. Last Friday my DH and I went out to see how I fared in the judging.

My dress won a participation ribbon. The comments were kind, including notice of my excellent finishes, but I believe the sewn clothes must have been included with some other craft category items. None of the clothing I saw displayed won anything more than a participation ribbon. There were at least 5 sewn items I saw and all each had a participation ribbon. I could not locate what won the first, second or third place in the category.

I did much better with my canned goods. I am beginning to think I might just be competing against myself in this category. There were only about 20 entries and 7 of them were mine. One of my favorite jams, Cran-Raspberry won a participation ribbon.

My jellied cranberry sauce also won a participation ribbon.

My Chocolate Raspberry Jam also earned a participation and a Judge’s Choice ribbon. I really appreciate the comments the judges include. I will write all about my big wins in tomorrows post.
