Friday FO for the first of March

I bought some Knit picks Felici I believe in 2025 that was called SWAK. I knit myself a pair of socks with it and loved the colors and striping pattern. My DD did also and I went back on the website to buy more to knit her a pair.

I managed to knit these within the space of one month. They are my second completed knit socks this year. I used my basic sock recipe that I have cobbled together from other socks I have knit in my life. The pattern works, I have it memorized and most importantly the socks always fit.

Now, what would a project be without some drama. I was sure i had purchased enough to make my DD a complete pair (she has larger feet than me). I got to the toe of the 2nd sock and realized I would need the 2nd ball. Do you think I could find it? Spoiler alert the answer is no.

As any knitter will tell you we keep scraps of yarn in our collection. It just so happened I had some pinkish sock yarn leftover from my pencil socks. It kinda matched. I thought it would not be so noticeable because it is the toe which will spend most of its sock life inside a shoe. Full steam ahead.

I later went into the knitting bag to locate a needle for the bind off and what should appear in the bag? Yes, the missing ball. You can’t win for losing. The ball is safely back in the collection untouched and the socks are complete. Hopefully my DD will not mind.
