Sourdough Brownies
I lucked out on another sourdough discard recipe, brownies. The recipe writer had some excellent ideas about how to get a cracked topping on the brownie. Her suggestions actually worked - I got a cracked top (even more so after I cut them).
This is a very chocolate brownie - the batter contains melted semi sweet chips, powdered unsweetened chocolate and then more semi sweet chips. For all that chocolate it is not an overly sweet brownie. I would say the texture is more cake like than gooey. It does have the slightest tang from the sourdough but it is not overwhelming.
These are absolutely perfect with a cup of tea (or coffee if that is your thing). DH and I have been enjoying a piece each night at our tea time.
