Friday FO in May
My longest WIP, over 30 years in the making has been completed. I worked on this for many years before it was put away. It seems like I have done nothing but crochet on this for at least the past month or two. I was trying to get it finished to take with me to see the intended recipients. I made the deadline but missed the event where Ii wanted to hand it over in person.
It is not the original size projected and I am totally content with the size it became. It is 20×20 of the medallions that were each crocheted individually and then added to the piece.
As near as I can estimate this probably took over 400 hours of craft time. Each medallion took almost an hour to complete. After I picked up my hook I had a few days of getting used to crocheting with such a small steel hook.
It is a work of art if I must say so myself. I added 2 rounds of edging to make the border. Working with vintage patterns is not for the faint of heart. I thought I was never going to get all the ends woven in. I would think I got them all and then I would find 5 more to weave into the piece.
