Going Back to Canning
After a break from canning I have returned. I spent quite a bit of time before Christmas with cranberries. I canned all kinds of delights. I think the last thing I canned with cranberries was applesauce. I had leftover cranberries and some other left over fruit. I made 3 different kinds but only got about 2-3 jars of each combo.
I canned raspberry cranberry applesauce, blackberry cranberry applesauce and cranberry applesauce. All of these are great on their own as a side dish or treat, but are also good when served with a cooked pork dish.
I am always on the lookout for pineapples on sale. My local grocery had some for 99 cents after Christmas. I bought a few and used them to make 2 batches of my most requested jam - pina colada. This jam always sets and is delicious. Below are the ingredients.
