Hand Stitching a Binding
I received the quilt tops back from the long arm quilter the other week so now I will be attaching binding. This is not “traditional” needlework but hand sewing is close enough for me.
At the beginning of every year I always “teach” the book, The Little Engine That Could. I explain that you have to keep going even when things are hard. When I saw the quilt panel and backing fabric in a quilt store quite a few years ago I had to pick it up. This summer I finally got it put together.
I decided a white binding was best. I sewed the front portion onto the quilt with my sewing machine, but hand sewed the back of the binding to the quilt.
