New Pattern & New Shirt

Ellie & Mac released a new shirt pattern, The Jennifer last week. I have a few patterns with a twist or tie in the front and I think the style is flattering on me. I am not sure who I am though since I bought the pattern and have already made one. This is totally out of my sewing character.

The pattern is very well drafted and the directions are easy to follow. This is a very quick sew. It took a little less than 2 hours from the time I cut the pattern out till I was wearing my new top.

The material is a rib knit I purchased from Hobby Lobby. It is very soft and honestly super comforatble to wear against your skin. I made a dress in it over a year ago. I liked the fabric so much I went back and bought a few more yards.

The ties are easy to create and it went together very easily.

In my experience knit shirts seem to stretch out of shape when hemmed (at least mine do). I did a hem with my cover stitch machine. I will wear it and wash it to see just how the hem hangs. If I think it is too stretched I can always add a band to the bottom.

I will be making more of this pattern, it is an elevated tshirt and suitable for work or play. I did try to cut the strawberries upside down but caught myself in time.
