Last Winnie Pants of the Month
I finally tried a different waistband feature on my last make of the Made for Mermaids Winnie pants pattern.
I used a rib knit for my last pair. I will say that the pockets do not hang anywhere as nice with the stetchier knit fabrics. The pocket on the french terry pair I made hung so nicely. The pockets on the less structured knits seem to be more floppy. I even added interfacing to the pocket edges on this last pair and that helped some.
The pockets are probably the biggest “issue” I have with the sew. The slant pockets are just a tiny bit fiddly.
All in all I am so glad I worked with this pattern all month. I will be making more, probably in the mid-calf length so I can wear them in summer. The directions are well written and illustrated. There is a Facebook group for the pattern company so you can ask for assistance there if you run into difficulty with the pattern. You could also check on Youtube since this pattern is not new other sewists have worked with this pattern and have helpful videos to watch.
