Lighting Up the Stitching

For my hour this week I did quite a bit of the outline stitch. Finishing up with some satin stitch.

I also borrowed one of my DH’s head lamps. I need more light to see the work as I am stitching. I tried the one he located first when I asked to borrow one. He has another version which I will also be testing to see which one works best.

The one I used today was a little too tight on my head, which can be adjusted. The other issue is that the light is in a fixed position. I am hoping the next one I test has the ability to point the light exactly where it is needed. Bending my head down is not always comfortable to get the best use of the light.

I am none too happy about the lack of thread count in the fabric. The material is so thin you can see where it is beginning to tear. I am not even pulling anything that tight. It is the quality (or lack) of the too thin material for the item. It is a very thin, cheap poly blend.

We shall see when it is completed. I might be having to back the piece with another material to strengthen it.
