New Bag

I haven’t sewn a bag in quite a while. I cut all the pieces for this Ellie & Mac slingbag quite a while ago. Decided it was time to begin work on it. The first order of business was the magnetic snaps.

There is nothing very hard about this bag, just what seems like 600 steps until completion. I bought special zipper tape and zipper pulls to complete the bag.

I have the most wonderful sewing machine but it is not a fan of very thick layers. If I think I am going to sew a lot more bags in the future I would need to invest in an industrial sewing machine.

I think I would make this again but probably with either cork of a much liner layer of faux leather. It did take quite a long time and I am sure the next one will not be as long a process. I did watch the youtube sewalong video and it was very helpful.
