Week 47 of YOP15
After Tuesday I will officially be on summer break. It is a good thing I work out at least 3 times a week, including lifting weights. The powers that be in my school district decided they needed to reassign my classroom to another teacher. My principal put in 4 requests to have them reconsider citing the fact that I was planning on retiring in a year, but each appeal was rejected.
A little known secret is that when teachers are reassigned to new classrooms they get no help moving any of their belongings. This means a teacher is responsible for moving all the items in the room. In addition I was department chair so I had a closet full of grade level materials to move. Needless to say it was exhausting.
KnittingPlans/Goals (Planes/Objetivos de tejido)
May goals Metas de mayo: Finish my 2025 Advent shorties (one sock is already complete). Finish a charity knit (almost ½ done with this one). Continue to work on the shawl and possibly cast on a new sweater pattern.
Progress: I cast on a new pair for my DD. I also finished the charity knit for the month. I plan on casting on another charity knit very soon. I did a row or two on the shawl and I keep working on my new sweater.
Sewing Plans/Goals Planes/Objetivos de costura
May goal Metas de mayo: May is known as Me Made May in the sewing world. I already usually try to wear at least one made by me object 4-5 times a week. I really have no grand ideas for this month. It may be a month where I just sew as the pattern takes me.
Progress: Used up the remainder of some fabric and made myself a sleeveless shirt.
Embroidery/Cross StitchPlans/Goals Planes/Objetivos de Bordado/Punto de Cruz
May goal Metas de mayo: Complete at least 4 hours of crosstitch during the month. I do not believe I will finish all of the wording this month. I can see the end finish of this project within the next month or two.
Progress: All the lettering is complete!
Crochet Plans/Goals Planes/Objetivos de crochet
May goals Metas de mayo: I want to finish this project this month. I have bene crocheting almost every night on it and it is getting close.
Progress: I finished the first of what will be quite a few scrubber cloths from the skein I am using. I will be chain stitching my way with a new one very shortly.
