Relearning Old Stitches

When I first learned to embroider I learned the stitches either from my mother or a small embroidery book she had. The booklet had drawings and written directions. Boy howdy have things changed over the years. You can look up any embroidery stitch and someone (and more than one someone) has posted a video on how to make the stitch.

This week I relearned the lazy daisy stitch and the outline stitch. I always have thought the lazy daisy such a sweet looking stitch perfect for flower petals. You will notice I have put off doing French knots for the flower centers. Also can I say this project has an unbelievable amount of satin stitch.

I did look at the crosstitch project but I might need a week or more to recover from the super tiny crosstitch I was attempting before. Luckily it does not appear my project includes the smallest crosstitch material know to man.
