Well for a gal who has repeatedly declared they are not a quilter what do I seem to have done the most this summer - quilt stuff.

Before I knew I might not be a quilter type I bought a kit from a quilt store that is now no longer in business. I liked the theme of the quilt, cats and I actually bought everything I needed to complete the quilt top. I even have the original receipt . This past week I got busy cutting everything out to build the top.

Another thing I now know as a more experienced sewer is stay away from striped fabric. I have no idea why this quilt designer thought including striped fabric as part of blocks would work out. It looks fantastic in the computer generated photo but not so much in real life. I could not get those stripes working the correct way no matter what.

This is not the most on point quilt top. Okay it is not even close to having my blocks lined up. Here is the thing, is it perfect, no, but is it done, yes. I never had plans to enter this in any quilt shows. I just wanted a quilt to snuggle under while crafting. It fits that requirement perfectly. Also my DH and DD think it looks stunning.

I will be getting it longarmed. Wrestling with the quilt top was enough I do not need to do that with batting and a backing in tow. I am collecting quilt tops and small quilting projects so I can find a local long arm quilter who takes in work.

If I ever need to really annoy my older sister who is a master quilter I can always send her this picture. It will certainly get her going. If you have siblings you know exactly what I mean:)
