Reminders of my Trip (Recuerdos de mi viaje)

What is going on a trip if you have no trinkets when you return. I bought just a few items to bring back from Honduras. I purchased this very typical wooden hand painted box for my DD. The hinges are leather. I already own some of these from my first life there.

¿Qué pasa en un viaje si no llevas chucherías al volver? Compré solo algunas cosas para traer de Honduras. Compré esta típica caja de madera pintada a mano para mi hija. Las bisagras son de cuero. Ya tengo algunas de mi primera vida allí.

I also bought a purse for myself. I could tell from looking at the purse that it was handmade. The owner of the shop where it was purchased told me she thought the maker lived in Siguatepeque. It is suede and has beautiful embroidery on the front.

También me compré un bolso. Al verlo, supe que estaba hecho a mano. La dueña de la tienda donde lo compré me dijo que creía que el artesano vivía en Siguatepeque. Es de gamuza y tiene un hermoso bordado en la parte delantera.

I am always looking for a new lanyard for the school year and the one I selected will work perfectly.

Siempre estoy buscando un nuevo cordón para el año escolar y el que seleccioné funcionará perfectamente.

I also purchased a poncho made from Lenca fabric. The Lenca are Indigenous people from present day southwest Honduras and eastern El Salvador. They weave a very distinctive and colorful fabric.

También compré un poncho de tela lenca. Los lencas son indígenas del actual suroeste de Honduras y el este de El Salvador. Tejen una tela muy distintiva y colorida.

This small leather keychain was gifted to me by the teachers of the school where I completed my volunteer mission.

Este pequeño llavero de cuero me lo regalaron los profesores de la escuela donde completé mi misión de voluntariado.

One of the last items I purchased was this very colorful top. It is very comfortable to wear. I am very happy with the few things I brought back.

Una de las últimas prendas que compré fue esta blusa muy colorida. Es muy cómoda de usar. Estoy muy contenta con las pocas cosas que traje.
