Shopping Bags for Presents
I have an older McCalls pattern for foldable shopping bags. I have lost track of the number of bags I have made with the pattern. It is a simple sew that yields a very useful item. This year my bosses were graced with these as presents.
One of my bosses is a big Buffalo Bills (an NFL team) fan so I always try to make her gifts from my stash of fabric featuring the team. My other boss loves dachshunds so that is why the other fabric was selected.
The pattern has a small, medium and large options. I usually make the medium - this seems to be the best for small items you pick up at the store. They fit quite nicely inside a purse or pocket. You roll them into a smaller size for sticking in your pocket and they unfold into a usable bag.
They were both very happy with their bags. It is always nice to gift something practical to friends that they will love and use.
