Thrifting Fabrics

As if I do not have enough in my fabric stash I went and thrifted a few pieces I want to use in new makes. All over my social media feeds are makers upcycling blankets/quilts. I already tried making a quilted hoodie, which actually turned out quite nice. I can’t currently wear said hoodie because today we hit 80 degrees!

Anywoo.. I thrifted these two identical twin sized comforters and a very nice heavier cotton tablecloth a few weeks ago at my local Goodwill.

I have plans for the comforters. I love the pattern with the elephants and I do not mind wearing orange. The first item on the agenda is to try to use my trusty seam ripper to remove the edge binding. It will be easier to use the binding off of the piece rather than cutting all the pieces needing binding at the edge. We shall see how that progresses. I am thinking maybe a skirt or summer capri pants for the tablecloth.
