Weiner Pants
I am on a kick of using nontraditional prints to make pants this summer. Another fun fabric I found at Joanns on clearance before it closed was a cotton woven with dachshunds all over it. Well that went into the cart for sure.

I used the Poppy pant pattern from Sinclair Patterns. I have never used this pattern before but I have had good sewing luck with Sinclair Patterns. These were not hard to sew, the only issue is fitting the back elastic. Stay stitching and basting is your friend during this step.

Now the back pockets are not quite even. One is placed higher than the other, but they are not crazy off on placement. My answer to that is stop staring at my butt and I am not sure when the pants are on the body it is super noticeable. My husband noticed, but him staring at my backside is allowed. Also I doubt it is visible from a galloping horse so we are good. On my next pair I will probably just leave off the back pockets. I have back pockets in other clothing items and find them useless. I do not have the habit of standing around with my hands in my back pockets. I also do not regularly carry anything in my back pockets. Who wants anything bulging on their backside - no need to look there - keep it moving folks.
Ahora los bolsillos traseros no están del todo parejos. Uno está más arriba que el otro, pero no están tan descentrados. All in all I am pleased with this first try at a new pattern. Once I perfect the elastic measurement these will be a great standard pant pattern for me.
