Yarn Swap Stash Build

Last Saturday some yarn besties and myself went to another local yarn groups Yarn Swap. They all went last year and had a great experience so decided to repeat.

El sábado pasado, algunas amigas de lanas y yo fuimos a un Intercambio de Lanas de otro grupo local. Todas fueron el año pasado y tuvieron una experiencia genial, así que decidimos repetir.

This year was not so blessed with great yarn. Lots of older acrylic some of which smelled very strongly of mothballs. I did return home with less yarn than I took so there is that. I managed to find 5 nice things. Two of them were from the ladies I went with (we did a little mini exchange of our own in the parking lot).

Este año no tuve tanta suerte con lanas de buena calidad. Había un montón de acrílico viejo, algunas con un fuerte olor a naftalina. Volví a casa con menos lana de la que llevé, así que ahí está. Encontré cinco cosas bonitas. Dos de ellas eran de las chicas con las que fui (hicimos un pequeño intercambio en el aparcamiento).

The other 3 items I have bagged and placed in the freezer for a month. I am not sure if any “extras” hitched a ride on the yarn but I am not taking chances. Especially since 2 of the skeins are pure Irish wool (I got those to try a felted project or two).

Los otros tres artículos los he guardado en bolsas y congelados durante un mes. No sé si se han añadido algunos extras al hilo, pero no me arriesgo. Sobre todo porque dos de las madejas son de pura lana irlandesa (las compré para probar un par de proyectos de fieltro).

We also decided that we are going to do another yarn swap in our group alone probably just before the holidays. The other idea we had was to have one of our “meetings” be a what should I make with this yarn time. We all have those skeins that we love but it has not yet told us what it wants to become.

También decidimos que vamos a hacer otro intercambio de lanas solos en nuestro grupo, probablemente justo antes de las vacaciones. Otra idea que tuvimos fue que una de nuestras "reuniones" fuera para "qué hago con esta lana". Todos tenemos esas madejas que nos encantan, pero aún no nos han dicho en qué quieren convertirse. 

The idea is we bring those lovies to the meeting and see if any of our friends has any ideas about what to make with the yarn. We are planning that for October I believe. Always fun to hang out with fellow yarn lovers.

La idea es llevar esas cositas a la reunión y ver si alguno de nuestros amigos tiene alguna idea de qué hacer con la lana. Creo que lo estamos planeando para octubre. Siempre es divertido pasar el rato con otros amantes de la lana.
