Another Quilt Top

I really must have been delulu a few years ago when I bought some quilt kits. This week I “finished” another top. I am waiting to quilt this one because I am working on another larger quilt top. I want them both finished before I look around for a long arm quilter who takes commissions. I will drop them both off at the same time to be professionally quilted.

This was another in a Las Vegas series a local quilt shop was doing a few years ago. Also it is another applique. So not only was I delulu in that I thought I liked quilting, but applique after all that.

I was doing quite well I thought until I got to the martini glass. It looks like I might have had a martini before I started laying out those pieces. There was an ingenius method included in the directions of copying over the layout on a piece of vinyl. This should have worked in theory but the creator had never meet me. It worked for a while until it did not any longer.

There were 54 pieces to layer on this thing. Good thing they were all laser cut for me. If I had been expected to cut out all those pieces this would have never been completed. My plan is to do a black cotton backing and black binding. It currently sits in the sewing studio waiting for me to finish the other quilt top which should be done within the week.
