Week 52/52 of YOP15

I actually could find my plans that I wrote way back in July of 2025. I am impressed with myself! So let’s see how I did!

Knitting Plans/Goals

10 pairs of socks (I would like to complete 12 but I really think that is pushing the envelope unless I start knitting baby socks). A charity item a month, 2 sweaters, 1 shawl or cowl.‍ ‍

Drum Roll: I knit 10 pairs of socks this year! I knit 9 charity items for the Christmas at Sea program of the Seaman’s Church. I knit 3 sweaters so went above and beyond on that goal. I also exceeded the shawl/cowl count, I finished 2 this year.

I finished my 10th pair of socks this week for my DD.

Sewing Plans/Goals

Setting aside a new fabric type to sew each month was fun and did help with using some of my collection last year. Maybe this years twist will be a pattern designer/company each month instead of a fabric type. I would also like to sew a bag each month. I have quite a collection of bag patterns and would like to begin using them.

Drum Roll: Okay it seems I did follow this plan for a few months, but then got lost in the sewing woods. I tried repeat sewing of the same pattern in a month and did really enjoy getting better at a pattern. I did always pick a “theme” for the month of sewing just none of them were a fabric type of designer. I did not manage to sew a bag a month - that was overly confident on my part.

I did finish another kit this week, The Lucky Penny Wallet from Sallie Tomato

Embroidery/Cross StitchPlans/Goals

Continue the hour a week plan for the piece for my late mother. If that piece is completed during YOP15 I have another long standing WIP that should get some more love.

Drum Roll: My biggest achievement was completing the piece for my late mother. Setting the hour a week goal really works.

Crochet Plans/Goals

My main goal is to finish the Garden Bee bag. I have a few other crochet projects in mind including another dress.

Drum Roll: I finished the Garden Bee Bag and a very long standing WIP of a lace tablecloth. Both of those were quite the accomplishments.

Misc Goals/Plans

These are more personal goals that are important to me: workout at least 3 times a week (during the school year), enter County Fair with various sewing/canning/crafted items, read over 100 books in 2025. I also want to make a list of 60 for 60.‍ ‍

Drum Roll:‍ ‍I continue to meet with my trainer weekly and work out at least 3 times a week. I have not lost one pound from all the workouts, but I am stronger physically. My stamina has greatly increased and I feel better. When I look at other females around my age or younger (who are not on social media- those people do not count) I think I look very good for my age. I can get down on the floor and back up without help or noises. I can keep up physically with my students (in fact I out ran them in my schools’ fun run this Spring). They were very surprised I could actually run. My students loved having their teacher running and encouraging them.

I entered the County Fair and did a clean sweep of the top ribbons in my canning category. I did not read 100 books, more like 60.

I never did get around to writing down a 60 for 60 list. It mostly lives in my mind and in there I am doing the majority of what I wanted to accomplish.
