Week 1/52 YOP16
The triple digit heat has arrived and all anyone wants to do is stay inside. Luckily I have lots to keep me busy.
Knitting Plans/Goals
July Goals: Complete at least ½ of the Knitmas in July KAL. Not a hard pattern but there were issues with the cast on. Complete the yoke of my Father’s Day sweater. Complete one of the pair of my 250th socks. Finish a hat for charity. Keep working on the shawl.
Progress: I have managed to complete section 1 of the KAL. I am through the heel portion of the sock and am now just knitting the foot. I have recast on the sweater and have completed the ribbing. The hat has ½ of the ribbing complete.
Sewing Plans/Goals
July Goals: This month I am sewing for Christmas in July. Trying to get a jump start on sewing gifts.
Progress: Well before I can get to Christmas sewing I had to finish up a project from June. I completed a quilt top from a kit I purchased I years ago.
Embroidery/Cross StitchPlans/Goals
July Goals: I need to settle on a project. This is harder than it first appeared. I have no shortage of contenders. I am beginning to realize why these projects have lingered in the WIP pile for years.
Progress: I relearned a few stitches to work on my latest embroidery project.
Crochet Plans/Goals
July Goals: Completed at least ½ of the baby blanket I have begun crocheting.
Progress: This blanket takes 6 skeins and I have just finished the first, only 5 more to go.
Misc. Goals
This week I wrote a post about making my own summer sausage. My DH and I are slightly in love with this new delicious treat. I always write about my reading on Thursday. I am still enjoying this book. It is always nice to grab up my Kindle when I have to go somewhere. This week my DDs car was in the repair shop for a few days. I was on Uber duty so was able to sneak in some extra reading time while waiting for her to leave work at the end of the day.
